What is the Church supposed to do?
The Kingdom of Heaven is the “government” of heaven under the authority of Jesus Christ. Jesus came to establish this Kingdom in the earth and His Kingdom has rules, or guidelines for those who become citizens. A Christian is simply a “follower of Christ” and a student of His teachings. The Church is the “body of Christ” in the earth today. The Kingdom of Heaven is not seen by the natural eye, but the Church is to be the “visible” expression of that Kingdom. That leads me to the last question, and I believe the Church is supposed to “do the works” that Jesus began both to do and teach!

Kassidy, who is our youngest child, is in the 8th grade at Central Middle School. She wrote a poem last month and the teacher asked her to read it to the whole student body of the Middle School. It was her first poem to ever write, and her first public presentation of any kind but it went great for her and once again we count our blessings! We love you Kassidy!

We’re so proud to see Lance, our son, doing such a great job in accounting work for the ministry. Lance took on this responsiblity around October of 2008 and has been doing a tremendous job working with our CPA and our accounting department while getting his training in that field. This is a perfect fit for Lance and Jodi and I are thrilled to see his growth by leaps and bounds in fulfilling this calling!

In WWII Colonel Doolittle and a group of volunteer airmen were selected to launch an attack against Japan. This was a very stategic move that marked the beginning of the end of WWII. The men called themselves “The Tip of the Sword” signifying the first strike team leading the way into the final battles. Their mission was accomplished and it breathed new life into our fighting forces and turned the war around.
The Tip of the Sword is what I relate to the Sword of the Spirit for spiritual warfare. The “first strike” against the enemy’s temptations that invade our lives through thought and suggestion. To learn how to use the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, is going to determine the outcome of your faith battles! Your first response of “it is written” is so important when temptations come, and they will come to all! I’ll update this as the Lord graciously pours this message into our hearts at The Rock Church. This is the first message that was given on March 1, 2009 so if you are interested stay tuned… “The Best is Yet to Come!”
